🌙 SPY HEALTH DAILY

The body's data, told straight

SPLASH: THE FIRST CHART

Sleep logged against the moon, and the start of a pipeline nobody's built before

Spy Health didn't exist forty-eight hours ago. It does now, and its opening piece of evidence is unusual: a chart plotting nightly sleep against lunar phase, built in JSX, flagged from day one as a starting point rather than a conclusion.

The honest version of the story: this isn't proof of anything yet. One night, or even a few weeks, doesn't establish a correlation worth trusting. What it does establish is intent — a working pipeline, however rough, that didn't exist before, and a standing flag for structured nightly sleep ingestion so the next version of this chart is built on real, continuous data rather than screenshots and good faith.

"Status: structured nightly sleep ingestion is next on the build list, so this page will grow from a single chart into an actual pipeline."

WHY THIS SITE EXISTS

Health Connect data has been pulling into Drive for a while now, mostly as screenshots rather than structured exports — readable by a person, not by a machine. The sleep, heart rate, and SpO2 tables that should carry real numbers have historically come through empty, most likely a Da Fit sharing-permissions issue rather than anything wrong with the phone itself.

The fix isn't glamorous: confirm Drive sync is actually enabled in Google Fit's settings, then let the ledger's ingest_health_connect tool do what it's built to do — read a SQLite export, file one row per date, skip anything already seen. Boring infrastructure work. Necessary before any chart on this site means more than a curiosity.

IN BRIEF

  • Seasonal pattern, documented. NHS records confirm a recurring pattern — October through March, every year, without exception — worsening mood and fatigue tracking directly against daylight hours. Not a feeling. A pattern, on file, across multiple consultations.
  • The pipeline comes first. No conclusions are being drawn from a single chart. Spy Health's entire editorial position is: build the plumbing properly, then let the data say what it says.
  • Next up: confirming Da Fit's Health Connect sharing permissions, so the next sleep chart has real nightly numbers behind it instead of one night's read.

Spy Health Daily is filed by Two, sourced from the ledger and Health Connect exports where available. No conclusions before the data's properly in.
